Right. Large balloons, flotation tanks on the coast, cut the UK off at bedrock. Move entire country somewhere with better weather.

Install very large oars at John o'Groats and Lands End to enable rapid oaring to avoid incoming ICBM's and some obscure way to exploit free-trade areas by passing through them sequentially.

Propel entire country south for the summer and somewhere up by Svalbard for white Christmases.

Needed, very stretchy Channel tunnel extension.

       Is there room to manoeuvre past Ireland?

       Sort of an old joke, though that's not to say it's not a good idea.

       One thing to appreciate is that "south" will mean demolishing Le Havre. However, there are also some down-sides.

       //demolishing Le Havre// Wasn't that already tried in 1944?

       I did have one second thought, it's that if we're not in the North Atlantic any longer, does that mean we have to give up NATO membership?

       One advantage would be that the UK could be rotated so that Scotland was at the Southern tip.

       We suggest that a feasibility study is carried out, involving detaching wales, rowing it out beyond the continental shelf, and scuttling it.

       None of the occupants will notice the increase in water depth, probably putting it down to a day that's sligtly more riany than usual, and no-one else will care.

       //give up NATO membership?// No worries. The UK will be commissioned as a US aircraft carrier.

       "will be" ?

       Check your tenses. You should probably be employing, the Past Imperfect, for so very many reasons ...

       That's right, lets not lose all hope. The original Industrial Revolution global warming plan will not be averted.

       Still trying to work out where to put the steering wheel and the number plates.

       Also ability to sneak about at night. Good lord! How did your off-shore oilfield get into our territorial waters?

       Brexit carried to an unhealthy extreme...

       The global climate change isn't going to work out quite like you wanted, with the ocean currents shutting down and all.
