This is a low speed high torque electronically controlled flapped motor. Instead of brushes, flaps. During rotation the flaps flippity flap. But still pull the motor around.

Torque is high but speed is low so gearing, manual gearing is required to increase speed to appropriate level. While the flippity flippity action zig zags as speed increases and gears are selected.

Flaps are designed with normal playing card ranks, etched.

So ... it's a motor which teases with the suggestion of a deck being shuffled.

And ... it addresses the problems of EVs being too quiet, and too easy to drive.

Are the flaps thin sheets of copper?

My god man yes.. they can be plastic. Imagine the rush for a plastic reinforced flapped motor. Who wants brushless, what are you shy?
