Find That Guy!
People submit home movies of their vacations wherein the show tracks down all of those unidentified in the backgrounds. | |
The show begins, needless to say, with cheesy synth music. Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa are the hosts and also sing the lyrics that go along with the synth music. The lyrics go as follows:
Watch out for that guy!
Is he a wacky guy?
Is he a serious guy?
Is he a guy that is a genius of some sort?
If
so, is he a serious genius or a wacky genius or is he Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde? HYDE!! HYDE!! HYDE!!
We won't know until we FIND THAT GUY!!
There are three main segments which comprise the program:
1) Viewer Submissions - Self explanatory; people send in their videos and get to come on the show, where they meet all of the people in the backgrounds of their home movies.
2) $1,000,000,000 Giveaway - A random member of the audience is chosen. If he/she can identify someone in the background of a viewer submitted video, he/she wins the money.
3) Fugitive Hunt - This portion of the show is a collaboration with America's Most Wanted. John Walsh and his analysts sift through the countless viewer submissions looking for people on the FBI's top ten list. If a video or any number of videos contributes to the apprehension of any number of the fugitives, the person/people who shot the video(s) gets/each get a free DVD which contains a documentary on forensic medicine.

(2) would happen too rarely, and (3) wouldn't make good television, leaving (1). Would you tune in to watch someone meet the people in the background of their home video? |
|
|
There'd be a suspiciously high success rate until the whole thing was exposed as a fix. |

I swear that I never saw that other post by ravenswood. We came to similar ideas entirely independent of one another. |
|
|
I also thought I'm supposed to purposely make all of my submissions ridiculous, hence the name of the site, "Half Bakery." Why do some people seem to take this so seriously? |
|
|
Because that's part of the fun. |
