Instead of spending money on a club, one could spend money
on window shaped pictures of the inside of your car with a
club on the wheel. When the theif is looking for an easy
target it will look like your car is protected. These window
stickers could also make it look like someone is sitting
in the
car. I guess you would need to buy one for all the windows
to make it believable... and it might need to be more
high-tech than just an image. Maybe one of those hologram
things so when you walk around the car the image changes
slightly. An expanded version of this would go along the lines
of "Fake Car" except it would be a cover that you put over
your nice car to make it look like a piece of junk. Or to make
a junky car look even worse.
Fake Car
http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Fake_20Car Your idea to cover the existing car is probably better than this mind you. [stupop, Nov 05 2001, last modified Oct 17 2004]

How about an inflatable suicide contemplater in the front seat?— | stupop,

There are plenty of fake anti-theft devices on the market. Most take the form of blinking lights that simulate a car alarm and window stickers that indicate the car has an alarm. |
|
|
The hologram idea is cool enough. Especially if, from whatever angle you look at it, the 'occupant' appears to be staring straight back at you. |
|
|
stupop - hilarious though it is - please elaborate on inflateable suicide contemplater or post as a separate idea |

Well, since the holography projector is already fired up, how about if a projection of a much more desirable, unlocked and defenseless car is projected right next to the car you want to protect. The stupid ol' thieves will just go for the projected version, yes? |

|
We have a fake burglar alarm on the wall of our house for this purpose.
[Po] I was vaguely thinking of an inflatable dummy holding a gun to its head, or perhaps with a hosepipe connected to the exhaust. That ought to discourage any would-be thieves - although you might get done for wasting police time. |

steering wheels are made out of rubber and a thin layer of metal inside the rest is holly so it is flexible in an accident, a hack saw can cut a steering wheel easy, the clubs that you use on your car are considered useless and your idea does not really make much sense taking off pictures on your window are going to be harder than taking off the club car jackers will get the idea that there not really there and actally go for those cars becuase they know the people that own them can't afforad a real anti theft device |
