Facial Ioniser

Reduce inhalation of dust and disease

Surgical masks and hardware 'comfort' masks are uncomfortable and sweaty. They don't even screen all particles.

I propose either:

(A) For dust - a powerful ioniser tie-pin/ broach that zaps a large proportion of the dust and other nasties as it reaches the face; or

(B) For disease - a mask with a clear inhalation path with an ionising filter. Exhalation path has a filter, because high velocity sneezes and coughs cannot be precipitated quickly enough by an ionizer.

Tremendous! Instead of inhaling dust particles which can be filtered out by the structures nature provided, I get to inhale ozone which is poisonous. Sorry, [FM]; fishy.

Ozone can be bound and I'm not sure enough would be created to outweigh the benefits.

       Point taken, though.

Cost nothwithstanding, this is a pretty neat idea. [ + ]

Given SARS, I'd hop on marketing this one...

Certainly in sufficient concentrations ozone is harmful; of course, the same can be said for just about anything. I have not seen anything to suggest that chronic exposure to levels significantly below those required to cause immediate harm cause any sort of cumulative damage, however.

Oh, I thought this idea was for a facial lioniser. Grrrowl.
