Expression Changing Headlights And Tailights

Mad, happy, scared, sly. Flip a switch, change your car's "mood".

Cars sometimes have headlights designed to give the impression of eyes. (see link) Sports cars almost always look mean or mad, allthough I rented one while back whose "mean" expression could also be read as a child that just got scolded.

Anyway, head and tailights could be designed such that a switch on the dashboard could change the upper portion shape to mimic eyelids narrowing, raising, furrowed brow, arched in suprise, that sort of thing.

You could change the profile manually or sensors in the car could judge your mood and make the car match it.

These were designed after the Terminator's eyes. https://www.osram.c...echnology/index.jsp

There needs to be a bleak, emotionless, hostile glare option.

Maybe it could be modeled on a cat.

Somebody actually patented a similar idea? Jeez, that's just sad.

I'll specify my idea's difference. "A perimeter of decorative LEDs around headlights and tail lights that project various images to denote human expression to those lights."

Trying to read that other guy's patents as somebody who's written his own and been granted several patents and wow. This guy was on psychedelics or something. Never read a more rambling, confusing, GET TO THE POINT! patent in my life.

Anyway, this could actually be something where you retrofit it onto existing headlights. It's a great idea except nobody would ever buy them.

Given the cheapness of LCD displays, it should be possible to replace at least the rear light clusters with two screens. They could then display red, yellow-flashing or white as appropriate, and could convey all manner of emotions.

Not all at once, no. The view through a telescopic gunsight tends to be a bit restricted.

It DOES stand for "Break My Window" after all.

Although Teslas are the new douchemobile. At least where I live.
