A lift with floor and ceiling that allow air flow through, on the way down, the airflow will appear to be up (when compared to the lift floor) and you will get an effect as in the "7 Year Itch" with Marilyn Monroe (see link). The effect on the upward trip will be less spectacular.

There may also be an upside in reduced energy usage pushing the lift through the column of air in the lift well.

       You need an elevator with a metal grating floor and ceiling. But those are Baked - they are used on building sites and in industrial settings.   

       If you can't find a building site, just bring your date to New York and stand her over a subway grating.
