The button powers it, of course. Like the light switch powers the light. |
Perhaps a small internal combustion engine ? |
Why never external combutions? |
Actually forget the buttons! there should be a wind up handle that is used to wind up the elastic. |
(+) I would suggest using braking resistance to wind the elastic. The button would just release the stored energy allowing you to use it on an uphill slope or anywhere else. |
// external combutions // |
Because combuting is now illegal in many jurisdictions, the special breed of orchid required is increasingly rare, swans are a protected species, and it's impossible to get the stains out. |
Perhaps the button could power the wind up handle. |
oooh I know ... why not make this a hybrid. When
you use your brake, elastic gets wound up (and slows
you down). When you press this magic button, the
elastic force is released .... [+] ... I want one, please! |

They did this on Scrapheap Challenge a few years back. One bike had a large flywheel, the other had a load of bungee elastic on a winch. The flywheel one was infinitely better. (Apart from perhaps cornering, but this was a drag race.) |

In East Fenglia, cyclists circumvent this thinking by just not
stopping at lights. That's a Cambridge education for you. |
I had to pay a fine for failure to stop last year, and now I learn I should have actually recieved a degree from Cambridge. |

Where they may or may not have touched on the whole " i before e " issue. |

I've been racking my brains and the halfbakery search field for a bicycle idea I could swear I saw here previously, but I'm unable to locate it. |
I'm going to post it and find out what happens. |
Read your post, and I linked to the archived idea in question. |

There should be a distinct spelling to differentiate "Read"
from "Read". |
There is. If you can't see it, you've probably got a browser
problem. Lipid's nice, but it chokes on extended-unicode. |
