Often I find, if I leave my alarm clock next to my bed, it's just too easy to switch it off, without hardly opening my eyes, and then fall back to sleep, then remember 2 hours later that it doesn't have a snooze function. In order to combat this dirty habit, I put the alarm clock on the other side of
the room, and so to regain the serene silence (minus the traffic) I have to get up and walk across the room to reach the switch. Alas, even this, these days is proving too easy, and so spawned this idea. The alarm clock must remain in my room if it is to be of any worth at all, but what if the "off" switch were located elsewhere? If it were further away than the other side of the room, then it might wake me up, at least get me up. A popular location might be down the side of the fridge, or even behind the compost heap.
