Dynamic Liquid Car Finish
Thin layer of liquid held in place by a layer of translucent plastic to give animated flames effect when hit by wind. | |
When you're not moving it's all one color, the color of the liquid but when you drive, the wind pushes the plastic down and exposes the color underneith, the color of the car chassis.
The colors would be such that it gave the effect of flames when you drove, the wind moving the plastic and liquid
underneith in ripples to give a flickering flame effect.
The moving liquid might also expose patterns painted on the body that could give moire pattern effects.

I don't know if anybody would go through the trouble to do this for a car, but I might try this as a weekend project for a kinetic sculpture as just a flag with multiple thin layers of different colors. |
|
|
This probably needs a diagram, but just picture a flag waving with it's waves in the cloth. Then just imagine those waves being different changing colors. |
|
|
I think this would work better as a flag. Maybe I'll re-post it as that instead. |

You know that effect in old TV series or low-budget films, where they wanted it to look like high gravity/acceleration, and they just blew a fan on the actor?
I think this would look like the actor's cheeks did, all floppy and rippling.
Cool. |

Wow, yes, the flabby skin part you already did, very good. But I did add the multi color feature. |

That's how inventions work, somebody invents the telegraph, somebody invents the computer, someday the lineage of both intersect and you get the internet. |

(I feel like back in the day, people were quite busy) |

Hey, know what I'd add to the liquid? Sparkles. |
|
