Door/Car Toggle
Extra-special security and proof that you did lock the door | |
At our house, we have a car with an electric key. We also have a door into our house (obviously!) which doesn't have an electric key. One too many times, my Dad has pressed the 'lock' button on the car, and almost instantly afterwards the 'unlock' button, thinking that it will open the house door.
Wouldn't
it be great if we had just one single toggle button to press, which would lock the car and open the house, and vice versa? That way you don't have to waste precious seconds pressing the button again and again trying to find out if you did lock the car or not.
Of course, there would be two more buttons, in the event that you were either going out for a walk (both locked) or you were carrying stuff between the car and the house (both open).
The idea saves seconds, and it won't change the world. It doesn't stop anybody from smoking, and it doesn't reflect on youth culture. Gimme a croissant!

Quite fail to see the advantage of combining car and house in a single key. One electronic key for each, or a single remote with multiple buttons, maybe. |

|
I'm trying to understand why your Dad thinks pressing the car remote is going to unlock the house door. |

If he lived in the car all the time there would cease to be a problem! |

Here's an idea: Implant a small bluetooth (-ducks flying fishbones-) key in the palm of your hand and integrate receivers into everything that needs locking and unlocking. When you're not reaching for it, it's locked...when you reach for it, it unlocks. You could even put the inductive charger for the implant inside your mouse, so it charges up whenever you're surfing the HalfBakery. |

ha ha ha, I love it when they make fun of the rules in the bakery!! |
|
|
[cancan] I have tried making comments on the rules here and, believe me, it won't change anything. |

[Pericles] wrong ..... it may subtly modulate the amount of (un)justified abuse you receive ..... |
