Door knob alternative

Door knobs are not very sanitary, people get the flu from touching a dook knob.

I propose a pedal at the bottom of each side of the door that you can step on to open the door. The door would need to be able to turn both ways for this to work.

Interacting with the world is not very sanitary.

That said, the less I encounter "dook knobs", the more sanitary I will feel.

Just get automatic opening doors and do away with knobws, pedals, keyrings, etc. altogether.

My method: For doors that swing in the direction I want to go, kick door. For doors that swing the wrong way, kick harder. Repeat as necessary.

If the pedal were mounted in the middle of the door, it could be opened using a pelvic thrust. Then it would really be mounted in the middle of the door.
