Dog soccer

Fast, furious fun.

The HB has cat soccer and soccer where dogs attack the players. Dog soccer is a serious game. The dogs are dedicated. Each has a handler whistling commands to it. There would be a lot of border collies but all breeds would be eligible. It would be really fast and fun. There would be a lot of stolen balls since there would be a lot of dribbling and dribbling dogs would be slow.

Each team would be allowed to have some members which did not play but barked excitedly from the sidelines.

Irrelevant link, mostly because Ball Dogs is one of my all time favorite HB ideas. [bungston, Jul 17 2011]

Each dog has a handler whistling commands. The dog referee is whistling commands. The guy in the concession stand whistles while he serves up nachos and (ironically) dogs. A train goes by. What could possibly go wrong?

BUN! (...you know; for the dogs...) [+]

That soccercollies website looks like a lot of fun, but what a terrible website for a commercial enterprise - no location, no prices, no date of webpage, nothing.

I wonder if a sport where the athletes were nonhumans could catch on. Horseracing is such a sport but the horse athletes are usually depicted as pretty one dimensional; they race. A lot of people feel more affinity for animals than humans. I think it could be done, and maybe be a lot of fun.

The link is an almost as one of the competitors is a polar bear and the others are pretending to be a horse..does this count?
