Let's say that I have a friend who is a hardware store junkie and a hardcore junk food addict. I, er, my friend, never passes up an opportunity to browse the aisles at the local Ace Hardware or Home Depot. My friend is also practiced in the art of, with apologies to RayfordSteele, "Junk-Fu-d".

I say, let's help out my friend by combining a donut shop and a hardware store. Sort of a theme restaurant. A full fledged hardware store plus a counter, some bar stools, pastries, juice, coffee, etc. Oh, and a pegboard with hooks for hanging the regulars' coffee cups.

Pop in on a Saturday morning and pick up a donut, some orange juice and a new sprinkler head. One stop shopping. My friend would love it.

"I'd like a cup of coffee and a quart of paint, please. Black"

I was thinking this would be a threaded donut "bolt" that fits into an equally threaded donut "nut". Up here we have wendy's and tim hortons inside some Canadian Tire stores (not as much stuff as the HD, but still fun to wander around).

[rbl], I hadn't thought of that. Now that you mention it, that would be a great logo for this place. I'd draw a picture if I could. But, alas, my artistic skills are on par with my nutritional habits.

ask bristolz, she's an amazing artist.

[rbl], If I open up one of these places, she'll be the first one I call. Oh, to have such artistic talent.

Your idea of modular donuts is fun. Choose the donut and the filling independently. The jelly bolt might be a bit tricky though.

be careful with this, when decorating I have lost count of the times I have dipped my brush in my coffee.
