Roland gently lowered his left foot into the vat of warm, oleaginous goop to a depth just above his ankles, feeling it ooze between his toes. It felt good.

Then his right foot went into the goop.

Then he withdrew his feet and plunged them into a tub of fine wool clippings, to the same depth.

Socks were done!

2 days later...

Roland sat in the HR Manager's office, waiting for her to return, his mind racing furiously.

What possible, feasible reason could he offer, for having poured five gallons of DipSox goo over his bald, asshole supervisor when he emerged from the shower in the office bathroom, before covering him in lime green woolly fuzz?

       So not socks for swimming.

       Nifty! [+]

Was gonna also give kudos for the first usage of "oleaginous" on this site but, sadly, no dice.
whatrock, Feb 16 2021

Do the fine wool clippings wick the oleaginous-ness of the goop so that Roland isn't just walking in a wool-paste? Or does the oleaginous-ness somehow solidify in such a way that Roland can not remove his socks without solvent?

       (+) pending...

...I know how much that means to you and how unable you are to not strive for fake internet points.

       Check... mate.

If he pulls them off when done, it'll be the first time [UnaBubba] had Socks A-Peel.

this is so weird, have a weird bun +

started thinking...good thing it’s not a *dip jock* (strap)

The obvious solution, for those asking, is that the goo sets reasonably quickly, especially once reinforced with wool.

And, being oily, would not break down when damp or wet but would require a surfactant, to assist with breakdown.

Could Roland lay his Thompson gun aside and apply a release agent to his feet before dipping?

Seems a good idea to be used in bed with dip sheets

Not advised for people with hairy toes, or ankles, or...

       So, not for hobbits, [RayfordSteele]?

Not unless they want to dress up like goblins.

Maybe Roland thinks the boss is a sock puppet, and decorated him accordingly with an upper body sock. Then he can criticize sock puppetry at work to the HR person, causing a glimmer of plausibility in her mind and a glimmer of hope for Ronald.

Also, technologically I think it would work even better if the wool clippings container had ultrasonics at it to hyersuperstir the dip goo into the wool clippings.

This also makes me think of using ultrasonic when applying a depilatory cream (Nair etc) so it gets driven to the base of the hair shaft, dissolving the entire hair, perhaps making it last 2-4 days longer between applications.
