Crop QR codes

Modern tractors use GPS to plant crops. Some even steer themselves and are basically completely computer controlled. Well with a rather simple program written into the tractors guidance system the crops could be planted to create gigantic QR codes visible from the air. With some commercial airlines now offering wifi during flight, people could see the codes and scan them.

       Given that satellites are used to monitor compliance with quotas and set-aside, I wonder if there are any software loopholes that would allow the farmer to reprogram the satellite in this way?

       One of the purposes of all this computerised tractor tomfoolery is to meter out fertiliser to the crops according to the condition of the soil.   

       If you know that one side of the field has less nitrogen, say, in the ground than the other side, the tractor can be programmed to spray more nitrogen-containing fertiliser on that side.   

       So there's no need to plant the crops specially. The QR code pattern just becomes an additional input to the system that decides how much fertiliser to spray.
