I envision a site that could collect all legal principles or directives we each deem appropriate, and on election day they would be tabulated, and those with the the agreed on pluralities shall become law. Then we draw consequences. Messy, but fun. Can we do this?

       Law 1: Since all men are not created equal, something must be done. This is the Law of Order. (OK, the real first law is the Law of Form: Draw a Distinction. But politicswise,...)

       I'm not sure I completely understand this idea...

Also (belated) welcome to the Halfbakery!

       Yes, welcome, [rfalv]. [rfalv]?? [rfalv]????

       Tsk. Bloody typical - turns up, posts and then buggers off in the intervening 17 years.

       I wonder if the HB should have a contract, similar to a mobile phone contract, but perhaps slightly longer? We could charge a massive penalty if 'bakers want to leave early.

       Well, at least they bothered to anno on a dozen ideas before haring off.

       I like the concept of sorting out legislature in this manner, but it needs to be even more complex.

       Let's say you favor the death penalty for a given crime - you name goes on a list, and when it's your turn you will be required to execute a convicted offender.

       Or perhaps you favor imprisonment for some minor issue - at some point you will be required to supervise a work crew comprised of offenders regarding that offense.

       So, if I vote for funding for a Mars mission, do I get a ticket to go?

       // when it's your turn you will be required to execute a convicted offender. //

       <jumps up and down waving arms>

       If we pay, can we jump the queue ? Please ? PLEEEEASE ?

       Can we choose the method ? We will pay extra for that ....

       // convicted offender//

       Everyone's guilty of something... is it really necessary to go through all that stupid, expensive, bureaucratic rigmarole ? Even if they're not technically guilty of anything, they're probably thinking of doing something wrong, and certainly capable ... best to err on the safe side ?
