Many years ago in my youth it seemed that every second car had a set of strips hanging down from the rear bumper to earth the car and stop people from getting nasty shocks if they touched the metalwork and the ground at the same time.
I recently bought new shoes and find that everytime I touch something
metal like a door handle or filing cabinet I get a bloody great shock. It is so bad that I have taken to bending down and touching the ground with my hand before I open the door, thus I get many strange looks.
How much better it would be to have some kind of earthing strip dangling from the back of my shoes to prevent this sort of thing
