In 2009 it will be 30 years since the video-game 'Pacman' was launched.
I propose that Commemorative coins be introduced to celebrate this event.
To make it even more commemorative they should be based on the coin that would have been the standard fare in 1979 to play a game of pacman; so in the
UK a 10 pence piece, in the US a quarter etc.
They would be really easy to make and by a bizzare co-incidence the left over bits could be used make 30 year commemorative trivial pursuit 'cheese-wedge' coins.

This is why I love the Halfbakery... [DrCurry]'s whole vote seems to depend on whether one can eat this or not.... :-) |

I wasn't thinking edible, but sure you'd be able to buy edible things with these - small 'power-pill' cookies for instance. |
|
|
You could keep your coins in a 'ghost' like pouch. |

//Will there be a Ms. Pacman coin too?// |

Not till 2011 I'm afraid - but her bow could probably be formed from two 'trivial pursuit' commemorative coins welded on the top of the coin. |

Quarters = Pac-Men and Ms Pac-Man Nickels = Pac-Man Junior, Dimes = Dots, Pennies = Power Pellets, Dollar coin = Super Pac-Man! |

I had one of these and it ate all the other coins in my pocket. |

[+]! Why must money be so serious? Pac-Man quarters would put a smile on my face. |

This would work very well in the UK where the currency has just lost 1/6th of its value. |
