Columbo (who played Peter Falk in real life) has died, and
the world is a little poorer.
On the 24th of June every year, if you miss him, make a habit
of stopping as you're half-way out the door, turning back and
saying "Just one more thing..."
R.I.P. Columbo.

How can anyone hate Columbo? |
|
|
Just watched my favorite episode in his honor.
"Negative Reaction" where he tricks the guy into
identifying the camera the murderer used. |

Oh... and uh... just one more thing. |

As an auditor, Columbo mode is one of my favorite tools. Too useful to pass up, too fun to resist. |

interesting. Care to expand on that? |

Oh, and just one other thing: You could also call it
Porfiry Petrovich mode. Dostoyevsky, so I was once
told, invented the character of Columbo. |

I always thought it was G. K. Chesterton with the
Father Brown mysteries? |

Can we start random conversations about a never seen, make-believe wife? |

The make-believe wife of a fictional character. Do
you suppose Columbo's wife had an imaginary friend
as a child? |

I have a croissant for you... I know I've got it here somewhere, just bear with me for a second...oh, I've got to pay that... Well, don't worry, I'm sure it will turn up. I'm terribly sorry to bother you, Mr. Buchanan. |

There's just one thing I don't quite understand about this..... |
|
|
I was talking to my wife, Mrs. Phundug, and she reminded me that Jackie Gleason also died on June 24. Mr. Buchanan, I don't know how Columbo Day can be June 24 when June 24 is already Jackie Gleason day. No sir, I just don't know how you're going to explain that. |
