As shown in link, a hubcap with the pattern of the colour wheel on it.

I think this would look cool when speeding up or slowing down. I wonder how it would look at high speeds?

Click a wheel and experiment with speeds. #11 is actually the one I was talking about. [XSarenkaX, Oct 01 2002, last modified Oct 21 2004]

Cool link - it works really vividly. Aren't our eyes amazing?

       Rubbish idea though.

       I was thinking.......

Would one that was simply painted colours look the same as one that actually had lights behind each colour section (for night-time driving)? I can't recall any colour theory.

How would a strobe light look behind spoked wheels?
Mr Burns, Oct 01 2002

You may need cruise control, to keep the gas pedal held down. Particularly if you want to watch the passenger side wheels.

Damn colour wheel link, I stared deeply into the wheel and was mezmorized for hours. There should be some sort of warning.

The color wheel posted is not what I expected to find for a spinning hubcap. What I think would be cooler is one of those black and white round patters that, when spun, seem to display colors. Remember making these in science class in school?

I'll see if I can find a link to demonstrate...

Sorry, [Wes], bit harsh of me - just thought that the original wheel you linked would just look grey when spinning quickly. It looks much cooler with the applets in [XSarenkaX]'s links (love #13).

Have a black & white croissant that is spinning at such high speeds that there is a tinge of colour in the middle.

[XSarenkaX] -- Excellent links, very nice. I had actually thought about this originally, but couldn't find a link to describe what I meant. I remember seeing these in the National Museum of Science & Technology in Ottawa, ON, Canada when I was a kid. They had a bunch there too, and you could spin them at varying speeds...... excellent link!

I've got my spinning disk, now I'm looking for a laboratory opposite a dress shop with a nice mannequin in the window ....

Couldnt you do that with a template and some spray paint?
