Bloody Mary is thicker than watered whiskey. |

Imagine - the menu could be Pantone swatches. |

All pubs would be forced to install colour-correct lighting. No rock-n-roll red and green stage lights lest you get the wrong beverage. And black lights are right out. |

I like the ascii idea, if by some crazy coincidence every liquor's name happened to add in every conceivable combination to a prime number when converted into ascii. |

"Bartender, give me some 1098338028501418615631 with extra 1538573213-549822. And hold the 4586433857312398001. My companion will be having 100107806408788 123189 168971868661." |

Or better, do it in binary! |

sorry bout that. I fixed it before I saw your post actually, so maybe you should go up to 1024x768 or higher. |

I generally pride myself on not being vulnerable to machismo tinged social pressures. However, one of my few weaknesses is having a pink drink. There's something about bars that force me to be a little bit embarrassed if my drink is a pretty color. The trouble is, not being well versed in bar menus, I rarely have any idea what color my drink will be until I order it. Therefore (+) for finding a way for me to order a nice brown or neutral drink. |
I've been stuck before on what to order too, since what I like best is usually hardest to find (Yellow Chartreuse, for instance). Lately, I decided various flavors of Absolut on the rocks is a good standard, since Absolut can be found everywhere and is free of GMOs. |
Incidentally, the color is best approximated as followed (if viewed on a Windows computer, that's what I'm using right now, but have no Pantone swatches :( just Photoshop): |
Yellow Chartreuse: Pantone 394 CVC/C-11, Y-82/R-240, G-251, B-74/F0FB4A
Green Chartreuse: Pantone 295-1 Process/C-50, Y-100/R-127, G-180, B-57/7FB439
Absolut: No Pantone/CMYK-0/RGB-255/FFFFFF |
That would be pretty cool if I could go in a bar and ask for Pantone 295-1 Process on the rocks, with a lemon wedge. |
It started with orange pop, it took over the soda world, and it might as well take over the alcoholic one too. |

Worldgineer, you pink drink drinker! Try a cosmopolitan. They go down easy, so watch out! |
1 1/4 ounces vodka (about 2 1/2 tablespoons)
1/4 ounce Rose's lime juice (about 3/4 tablespoon)
1/4 ounce triple sec or Cointreau (about 3/4 tablespoon)
1/4 cup cranberry juice
1 cup ice cubes
In a cocktail shaker combine all ingredients. Shake well and strain into a Martini glass.
