To appreciate Car With Flabby Skin, you need to drive it quite fast, because at a certain speed, the air passing across the double skin of the car's surface will cause waves and ripples to form. This is because there is a thin layer of fatty liquid trapped between the conventional metal surface and an outer flexible membrane.

To see a similar effect, for comparison, look at the images in the link, then imagine that it's a car's surface, and not a human face being subjected to the superficial distortions. (in this case being caused by travelling in the an open-topped car going at 200kpm, according to website)

Extra croissant if you can take make the radiator grille look gob-like, with flabskin being drawn back at high speed, revealing more "mouth".

For 4x4s, SUVs and similarly large vehicles, the skin could be like a rhino's.

I'm quite surprised that Pugwash seems to have beaten me to the press with this idea..... I did check as always, but the devil as always lies in the fish with no tail.

^I vaguely remembered it from a few months back; his seems to be for the purpose of self-aerodynamicizing, whereas yours I presume is so you can have a car that goes "flibflifblflibflibfliflib..."
FlyingToaster, Sep 08 2011

The "flbflbflibflabflb" part only came after the esteemed Mr B annotated my idea. I cannot claim any part of it, other than wishing to have the "flbflb" tuned.

Perhaps it could be tuned to match the cars personality. Ride of the Valkyries - A Hummer. The theme to Terry and June - an Austin Princess.

Just one question, where does the fat come from?

The cellulite dimples make it go faster.
