These would be round, hollow hard candies. They would come in different sizes, colors and flavors and be translucent and glasslike. It would be cool if they could be filled with carbon dioxide gas, but i think you have to mix that into the actual candy part.

Not hard candy, just "edible" soap bubbles. [jutta, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

       It would be even cooler if they could be filled with liquid helium.

       What? You wouldn't like that?
PinkDrink, Jul 20 2004

       No, nitrous oxide (laughting gas). I'd buy one, just for giggles.

       [half]well they are not thick walled like a tootsie pop and made solid by the filling. I'm sure sugar can be made into blown glass like forms. Pulled sugar is very glass like. you would probably make it into pulled sugar first. I'm not a candy maker or glassblower, so I guess i really wouldn't know. Nitrous oxide bubble candies! Now, THAT would be cool! [Worldgineer] Carbon monoxide candy for your enemies. [Abysmal Intellect]

       aha! It could work! Thanks for the link [2 fries shy of a happy meal] I guess bubbles would have to be blown out really thin to look translucent though.

       This::Pop Rocks

       as

       Nuke::firecracker

       So This = Nuke and Pop Rocks = firecrackers?

       Thanks GutPunchLullabies.

       I'd interpret that as saying that this idea is much bigger (better?) than Pop Rocks.

       Perhaps to get this effect the Candy Candy Bubbles should be filled with highly compressed air and bitten instead of sucked.

       Instead of compressed air how abut a partial vacuum so when you bit one it'd implode.
I can almost hear the Takes My Breath Away jingle.
