Call Mom every week

A slippery slope of aural evil

Using a variety of sound manipulation wizardry, pre- arranged scripts, sound samples and actors this company would call your parent every week as you just for a chat. It would then email you a general run-down of the conversation.

May be more successful if your parent has a degenerative brain disorder. May also be used to comfort Alzheimer's patients and the naive with calls from beyond the grave.

May be used in conjunction with scams, or in the service of outright fraud of various kinds.

May be used as an instrument of psychological torture.

Maybe a viable business, with a tweak:

       1) Have a menu/catalog of the most popular things that Mom & Dad want to hear.

       2) Have that menu voted up/down by the target audience (Moms & Dads who subscribe).

       3) Then, the Moms & Dads ask their children to come to the site & the site records the audio of the children saying those things.

       4) For a small fee, Mom & Dad then get calls with a random sample of those pre-recordings, at intervals they choose.

It's fake, yes, but it's authentic in that it is in fact their children's voices.

Seriously, when my kids go off to college, I might want this.

It might be more believable if the kids recorded things they actually call about and the calls came at odd hours. e.g. Dad, you're not going to believe this, but... .......really, just a loan. Promise to pay you back. It wasn't my fault. The guy came out of nowhere...what was I supposed to do?.......is pregnant...sorry, but we've been so busy....yeah, I didn't know it was illegal.........
