CSI hotel staff

Preserve the evidence.

Hotel cleaning staff should be given basic CSI training and provided with appropriate equipment in a "go bag" so that if in the course of their duties they come across a potential crime scene, they can recognize it as such and be prepared to preserve any perishable evidence.

       Assuming that the deceased has not been stabbed with an icicle, what kind of perishable evidence will not wait until the police arrive?*   

       (*This question is calibrated for the UK, where the time taken for police to arrive at a crime scene is often less than 48 hours.)
