A way to get more electricity.
Option 1 is to distribute piezo-electric dental plates and ear pieces to Bruxism suffers and the power goes into the grid, for which they get paid. Top generators get the option to join a three-shift system, so the country never gets short of electricity at peak periods.
Option
2 is to make a deal with a country 8 times zones away, their power can be sent down the power cable.
Both of these options have an emergency boost capability, in that the power company can hit a switch and worrying whispered comments can be fed to the earpieces of generators to up the generation rate.
Option 3 is more of a variety pack, for example a hidden spring loaded cable to people's quilts/duvets which drags off the [whatever you choose to call it] during the night and the sleepers have to try and wrestle it back on again, and so on.
also similar concept, but the other way around

//power goes into the grid//
If the energy transfer is reversible, I would like to see the "generator" as a "motor" |
