Incidentally, why isn't "spacecraft" another word for "interior design"?

To insure authenticity of various things, they could be marked with microcapsules covered with certain proteins that would attach to various antibodies. The antibodies would be marked with substances that fluoresce.

Alternatively, the micro-capsules could be filled with encoded DNA where the DNA contains an authentication code. To verify authenticity, a swab is taken from the article and placed in a solvent to dissolve the micro-capsule. The DNA is then "amplified" by means of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) so there is enough DNA to analyse.

Good idea, [D]. I was just thinking about this, as I did not feel my "car dna" concept got the purring appreciation in deserved. Also: welcome to the HB!

I'm against the idea... not that it's a bad idea... it just has a very big brother feel to me
