the idea is pretty simple, plots of land that have a greater
degree of bio-diversity are more resiliant in the face of
drought...
There would have to be some research done, to identify
different sub-species of grass that share similar attributes, in
terms of colour and growth rate... but
the idea revolves
around having lawns that use less water...
i would imagine you'd want 3-4 different types of grass, you'd
also need to do research just to see if one of the nominated
strands dominated the others on a regular basis...

My local seed store carries a mix of lawn grass seeds, custom mixed for our local area. Just toss it around, the seeds best suited for the patch of land thrive proportionately, and then Bob becomes your uncle. I speculate that this works by transubstantiation. |
