I don't know about anybody else, but I seem to have a problem keeping the belt loops on my jeans in working condition. It may be that when I need my hands free, I tend to hang things on my belt, but I don't think that should make much of a difference. I simply suggest that jean companies should use the
rivets they put at stress points in jeans (the little copper circles that look like snap style buttons) to attach the belt loops. It would make them stronger and I would have an easier time keeping my pants up. If this has already been baked, please tell me if you know. I am not a fashion expert, and my jean knowledge pretty much ends at Levis.

I'm sure some jean companies do that. Surely. |
Thanks for the link but those wont work. I am male and like to adhere to my society enforced stereotypes of male fashion. |
But the idea has already been put into play by someone else. Thats just the first thing I found on google ... |
Maybe you need a low-friction belt. Where exactly are the loops breaking? |
At the bottom attachment point. |
Well, you're either going to have to quit hanging tools from your belt loops, or start wearing satin genie capris at the job site. |
Well I heave a heavy sigh because capris it is. |
I think I've only ever had one belt loop break in my entire life. Maybe you need to slim down or something. |
I am 6'1" (about 185 centimeters) tall and I weigh 125 pounds (about 57 kilograms). I don't think that's the answer doctor. |
Perhaps you should invest in a tool belt with shoulder straps. |
Presumably custom fitted pants would fit so well that there would be no need for a belt, or the loops either... you can't break 'em if they're not there! |
There's a lot to be said for braces/suspenders. |
I think I have seen little chain belt loops. would they help? |
I buy pants in 30" waist and 34" length. I have 28-29" hips so they fit close enough. I do definitely have to use the belt though. |
Quite possibly po. Do they attach seperately? Could you possibly tell me where to find them? Thanks. |
not sure. you either buy them like that or sew them in.. |
Wouldn't it hurt to have a ring of metal bumps around your waist at the same place that your belt is applying pressure? Perhaps a better solution is more belt loops, to reduce the force applied to each one. |

I also eat (and digest) about six thousand calories a day. |
A) Skip breakfast.
B) *Then* eat 6,000 calories.
C) Use more salt & have a little bit more fatty foods.
Why:
A) By eating breakfast, one with high metabolism just keeps the metabolism high. Skipping breakfast slows the metabolism down.
B) You'll eventually be able to lower calorie count.
C) These two (particularly salt) help regulate the body, and keep it healthy.

I've broken loads of belt loops in my time, either by hauling on them when pulling on my jeans or by hanging things off them. It's a particular problem with cords. |
If the manufacturers put rivets on the loops *and* doubled the width of thickness of the them, they might hold better. |
A man should always have things hanging off his belt, ideally tools. For some reason it's very sexy. |
I have the opposite problem - its my belts that always break. I think its because I don't wear leather and hence my belts are usually plastic. I often clip a mobile phone onto my belt and that's usually the point at which it eventually breaks. :-( |
okay... 6'1" - 125lb - 6000 cal/day diet ... I think the problem here is that you must be attaching a couple 100lb weights to you belt while you run your daily marathon... what in the world do you do all day to burn that many calories and not put more muscle on your frame? |
[CZ]- if this is quickly turning into an advice session, I can give you some from someone who was in the same boat. |
I was 6'3" and 138 pounds, I stuck to a high protein diet and lifted weights 2-3 times a week for about 3 years, now I'm about 190 pounds. |
Don't slow down your metabolisim, you don't want to put on weight in fat. Keep your metabolisim high, just use all that energy you're creating to do something. |
The solution: more loops. |
