Once in a full moon, a brilliant inter-company deathmatch would begin, challenging all to some 3d action. The games and time intervals would be random, and all company computers would auto-run the software in full screen - there would be no escape. The match would last around 30 minutes, its sole purpose
to refresh wary minds, and stiff joints with some mind blowing action, whilst keeping employees happy.
or just do what the italians do...

Used to have Starcraft LAN battles on lunch at my old office. Great fun, very refreshing, and helped bring co-workers together.+ |

I thought for a minute that this would be about actual, genuine fights for employees to wake them up/test them/ keep their job... |

<tanoi (tm) > *crackle* This is a Battle royale message. Repeat: This is a Battle Royale message. The presence of employees RUSSELL DOUGLAS from HR and KIRK CROWE from personnel is urgently required in the **ARENA** </tanoi (tm)> ... Russel had no time to lose. Grabbing the closest thing to a weapon he could find ( a chipped coffee mug) he ran through the office. Colleagues scrambled to follow him to the arena to watch him fight for his livelyhood.... |

So it's 4.27pm and I'm on the phone to a broker, frantically tracking a price, praying that I can get my sale instructions in before close of play and the price has juuuust about dropped when BAMM! I'm being gibbed by the dandruff-halo'd gingers who lurk hunched in the IT department and my client loses out on thousands of pounds, for which my firm has to stump up compensation? No chance, sunshine. Keep this for phone jockeys and the IT goblins. |

What is wrong with Corporate Paint Ball? |

Isn't this roughly what happens already? (Just look at the Manny Hanny, Chemical, Chase, JP Morgan, etc. match-ups: once a year, rather than once a month, but there was plenty of blood on the floor after each.) |

If I were the bossman I would watch carefully to see who really excelled at these games. Then I would watch carefully to see how those folks spent their time in the office when they were supposed to be working. |

Do it daily 30 minutes just before a shift begins. It could motivate employees to arrive on time. Online games could run on a corporate server. The server denies access at other times, only the employee of the quarter is allowed to play all day. |
