Since banks close around four o'clock with most staff is gone by 4:30 each day I would contend that the facility is under utilizied. Also, since most bars open around 4:00 for happy hour this new coupling makes perfect sense.
Therefore, I suggest the addition of a full service bar along the teller
line (which pretty much resembles a bar--minus the queue lines) In this way the bank partnering with a local entreprenuer or francise could defray the cost associated with the upkeep of the building by renting it out in the evening for social beer drinking.
Better yet, the bank could stay open so that you could finally do some business. Just imagine, "I would like $50 cash back and a Molson Golden in chilled mug." Overdraft would take on an entirely new meaning. Your statements would now read as: Account balance: $4,235.34 or 3,852 beers.

You get a (+) for the attempt to cut back on space required for stupid business buildings. (Not that CEOs would listen.) |

I don't know about this...I don't like the idea of someone who's far beyond drunk being ten feet away from a teller and not being able to make clear decisions. Someone could easily drain their bank account of money because they're not capable of thinking clearly. [-] |

Seeing as so many london pubs are in repurposed bank buildings anyway - they might as well be working banks in the day. + |

[+] so long as the pint glasses aren't on wee chains like the pens. grrrr. |

i'm guessing if they where on chains they would be just too short to get to the bar, or lift to your mouth without stooping. |
