We have a homeland, we have a flag, now we have a currency, the Crois (Ç).
One Crois (Ç) is made up of five fish (). With denominations of half-fish, one-fish, two-fish, half-crois, one-crois, and two-crois in coin form. The bank notes will be 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 crois varieties.
Each
coin will have Jutta's head, or the half-croissant-on-a-plate design on the obverse side. The reverse will have an illustration of one of the worst or best ideas in the 'bakery, depending on whether the coin is a crois or a fish.
Each note will be a different colour and will have spellings ala thumbwax, with the british 'u' in brackets. Each note will have a different Halfbakery Tagline on it, and will conatin the phrase 'In Gosh We Trust'. Each note will also have a picture of a 'dead' user or one declared missing while baking, ie PeterSealy, lewisgirl, BigThor, Egnor. Perhaps not lewisgirl, she assured us she would return.
These could also be created as novelty items to sell to fanatical bakers who have already got the t-shirt.

bliss: You pay money for money when you got to abroad. I see this more as an internationaly recognised currency, but only recognised by worldwide 'bakers. Sort of a secret society currency, accepted in the 'bakery homeland and between bakers and of course, on the internet. |
What else could you use to buy shares on the halfbakery stock market? |
[egnor]'s been around recently; perhaps you could substitute [rayfo]. ps Are you the real [scuttled]? |
Angel: The real [ sctld ] has square brackets round his name with a spce between the name and []'s. So yes, this is the real sctld, and not that imposter sctldave. |
"Sort of a secret society currency" .... do you think it could be used to buy one's way into the Masons ? |
If theres a 'baker in the masons, then probably. |

//One Crois (Ç) is made up of five fish ().
//
Croissants being made up of fish doesn't seem
right. Can I suggest instead that one croissant (Ç) is made
up of 5 crumbs(ç). There would also be a parallel,
negative currency, where one fish (F) is made up of 5
fishbones (). The two currencies are equal in value but
opposite, so if I owe UnaBubba 2Ç, either I could pay him
2Ç or he could pay me 2F. |

So the Fish is an undesireable currency, like the euro? I like that actually, just for the sheer silliness of it all. |
So the Fish would be like an IOU? Would it be interest-bearing? |
I find the idea of positive and negative currencies intriguing (along the lines of "why is there only one sort of gravity").
In a sense, virtual negitive currecy already exists in the form of debts.
So, if you put fishbones and croissants together in the same wallet, would they disperse in a puff of Anti-money ?? |
// would they disperse in a puff of Anti-money ? // |
No, anti-money (chemical symbol Sbone or Sb1) is the metal that the fish coins are made of. |
Croises would be minted in 99.999% pure unobtanium (chemical symbol Ub) and would thus have a value standard not subject to runaway inflation, as we all know the inherent value of this precious metal in building ultra-intelligent nano-doohickeys. |
When HB money and anti-money collide, they disappear in a puff of half-baked logic. |
If Fish is anti-money, or essentially debt, wouldn't you just throw it away? [edited because I have no idea how to *through* something away] |
(sp. throw)
To stop people throwing fishbones away, we'd be audited by our elves. |

//The two currencies are equal in value but opposite//- hippo.
This means that:
The Croissant and the Fishbone could be paired halves of the same note/coin.
The notes could have a perforated strip down the middle. When you want to spend the Croissant or accept a debt by giving a Fish you tear the note in half along the perforated strip.
The coins could thin in the middle making them snap easily in two.
When you get money from the bank you don't need to take it out of your account as each intact note is worh nothing. You just pick up a handful. |

Obscured by beer mugs, of course |
