Some user's posts include run-on words, hyperlinks or punctuation, which destroy the pristine HB page layout we have come to know and love. These careless annotations force us to scroll horizontally back and forth across the page, making reading new annotations tiresome.
I realize that the point
in which the text actually wraps is determined by the browser text size, screen resolution and typefaces installed. Automatic hyphenation would kick in to only allow a certain number of continuous characters (50 or 60?) without spaces, which should stop the annotator from bringing the page layout to its knees.

[Rods]: Server side. The annotation window automatically wraps, so the server would break apart the word at 50 or 60 spaces, maybe with a tilde to indicate server hyphenation. This would not be intelligent hyphenation, mind you, with a dictionary or syllable recognition. Just a forced letter limit hyphe~
nation. |
