Air Inflated Shoe Laces

 Air trapped in the ends of sholaces keeps them tied.

These shoelaces are airtight tubes of elastic material sealed at the ends. By tying shoes with them and forcing the air out into the ends that are being tied together, the knot is held closed by the air pressure stored during tightening.
