For those who can't get enough of that scrumptious bacon taste, Aerosol Bacon! All the bacon taste, without the mess of frying, or the effort of shaking who-knows-how-old bacon bits from a jar. Spray it in sandwiches, on crackers, on omlettes... anywhere you want that salty greasy taste! Aerosol Bacon is 100% bacon and pork fat, pureed, and packed in a convenient aerosol container.

Why bacon? Aerosol Flavors, if you like, but yuck.

       But would it be kosher?

It probably would be kosher, likely being composed of a bunch of chemicals.
snarfyguy, Jan 12 2003

I will save Cedar's fine idea from deletion by propsing a mechanism: savory bacon fat is mixed with vodka (the alcohol being necessary to suspend the fat) and stored under pressure in a seltzer bottle. It occurs to me that a Bacon Gin fizz would be delicious.

For the more mundanely inclined, it could be a flavored variety of spray-can shortening along the lines of "Pam".

       Bacon gin fizz?! *DROOOL*! Croissant!
snarfyguy, Jan 12 2003

How it works: Bacon and drippings are pureed to a fine, foamy consistency. A small amount of stabilizer and emulsifier with water is added to the mixture to keep it from congealing in the can. Vodka optional.

Squirty cream is mainly dripping and sugar (unless I've been victim of an urban myth). Emulsified bacon flavouring is used in crisp (chip) production. Hence this should be eminently bakeable. Or grillable.

I’d like to call this disgusting, but I’m not qualified since I recently attempted bacon flavored popcorn by using bacon fat in my wok instead of vegetable oil. It was very yummy.

What about veggies? Quorn in a can? Aerosol quorn? Excuse me while I throw up.

       Ah, [talen] spray-on vomit-in-a-can .... another marketing opportunity !

We relish the quotation, "Choking on one's own vomit ? Whoever would have thought of choking on someone else's ?" EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWwwwww.

       Aerosols to this idea (-)
DrBob, Jan 13 2003

Before you know it you'll have kids sniffing aerosol bacon - there'll be mass muggings so that youths can indulge their porcine fixation, followed by collapse of the health service and the worldwide economy due to the massive numbers of youngsters with coronary disease, now renamed gammonitis.

On the plus side, it would mean that there are fewer kids around - maybe... And aeroplane seats would have to be made wider.

We all carry those little plastic airway packs in our medical kits, but in that circumstance I don't think it would be of much benefit. I've only ever practiced rescusitation in a classroom. Thankfully.

So it's like Spam? in a can?

       sounds good to me
-lines-, Jan 13 2003

Technically, not Spam®, as Spam® is made from pork shoulder, and bacon is made from belly meat. But it's pig in a can, all the same. Just don't try the can opener on this one!
Cedar Park, Jan 14 2003

Spam in a can a halfbaked idea in and of itself.

       SPRAY IT OOOOOONNNN!!!!

I am very allergic to pork products, as in hives/wheezing/ etc. I'm afraid this would be highly unpleasant if I was around for the spraying. Fishbone!
Malakh, Oct 24 2003

I've been saving my bacon grease for years in a few assorted tubs in the basement; knowing that someday it would fetch a premium price. Great idea, keep me posted on production.

can we have a bacon aerosol low fat low sodium?
noyola, May 19 2009

Oh, come on! "Spray Bacon"? What's next? Spray lasagna?(!)
Speed Razor, May 19 2009

       This is genius.

Given the ongoing row about the new British £5 note <link>, a spray which can be used to infuse all banknotes with essence of actual bacon has the potential to cause a great deal of woe, misery and dismay in those of a non-bacon-loving persuasion.
