For all sports, please. Anything to make people running round a field, hitting a ball with a stick, et cetera more interesting. [+] |

I remember my first ever experience on a rowing machine at a gym: it included a display screen with program that had a 'shark chase'. |
Not quite peril, but you could add sprinting animals to the races. Usain Bolt against a crocodile (Bolt Jenkins - see linky), Michael Phelps versus an otter (!?). |

Slightly different, but I used to think it
would be good to dub 8-bit games
console sound effects over the top of the
Olympics. Imagine the triple jump, the
javelin and the hurdles with Mario jumping
noises and shoot-em up lasers and the
like. |

I used to have that game! A sure-fire way
of developing arthritis at the age of 9. |

Yep. Kids have it easy these days. Wii Fit, my arse. |

(+) Synchronized swimming with piranhas. |

+ what [Srimech] said...let's make it interesting! |

use monkey and pigsy from the olympics trailer for something please. |
Wouldn't it be simpler to use real cheetahs? |

Now THAT gets our vote ! [+] |

Marathon runners being chased by a virtual velociraptor would be good .... but bluescreen/CGI can only go so far. The Long Jump where the first part of the pit is full of live venomous snakes would be excellent. Putting the shot, but with a live grenade - throw it far enough, and you not onl get a medal, you get to live, too. And for the equestian events, a pack of hungry lions would add that extra frisson of authenticity .... |
//Putting the shot, but with a live grenade // It wouldn't be heavy enough, would it? |
If it was heavy enough, then you wouldn't be able to get far enough away. Somewhere in between there must be a happy medium where most competitors live but the odd few die. |

"Darwin Olympics" = survival of the fittest, literally ? |

Being an ex-pole vaulter, I can imagine the fun of jumping over a giraffe. |
