Ever had a suit on, and you wanted to reach up for something? It's hard, isn't it? The way most--if not all--suit jackets and shirts are made today, you can't reach up very far because the armpit of the jacket and shirt are very tight. If you can, yer whole jacket moves up 6 inches. If you take yer jacket
off, it's easier, but then yer shirt comes untucked. Very unprofessional-looking. The solution is Accordion Armpits.
Simply put one or two pleats into each armpit of the aforementioned garments. If well-made, they will not be visible when your arms are in the 'normal suit' range of motion; but when you need to reach, you now have most or all of the freedom you want. Best of all, you can 'retrofit' it onto your entire wardrobe if you like.

Wouldn't it look odd to have stuff folding out of your jacket? |

Spandex inserts with a fake worsted wool look? |

[spacecadet] Only while you're reaching. Besides, how often do you really look at a man's armpits? |

Why does this idea remind me of [skinflaps]? |

What? No musical component? Shirley the armpit accordion instrument is due... |

I've been thinking about taking Mexican-style accordian lessons... I just love that sound....drives my friends crazy. I had hopes for this idea.... |

Like [RS] I was expecting wheezy tunes. Just imagine the fun that could be had in meetings, stretching across the table to get another glass of water, reaching up to the sky and back down again. Whole symphonies could be created while listening to the project manager explain why the crucial decision has to be deferred another week. |

sounds like a 60's rock band <grin> |

As long as this was just for jackets as it'd be painful to catch armpit hair in the mechanism. |
