I follow a few murder cases and people are always saying, "he doesn't look like a killer, & what does a killer look like".
So here's what we do, we keep a one year, updated image of what a killer would look like if you combined all the features of people convicted of murder in the past year.
There
would be one for males, one for females, and one combining both sexes. Then when someone ask, what does a killer look like, you could just give them a link.

Obviously, everyone should get together and make a kind of photofit of what they think a killer should look like. Then move in next to that scar-faced, one-eyed limping guy whose eyes are a bit too close together and who has a mechanical claw for a hand. Then live without fear, because it's always the guy who "seemed so normal" that goes popgun mental. |

My point, we can't tell you what a killer should look like but, closest thing to it, we can show you what killers look like.

People have done psychological studies on this I think--as I recall, there is no "face of a killer"--when shown pictures of people who may or may not be murderers people can't tell the difference. |

My point - it's what what on going behind the face that's the trouble. Eyes in the right place, nose in the centre of the face, mouth underneath that - check. Psychotic tendencies - not written in the face. |

The composite face wouldn't tell us anything useful. You address male and female faces, but what about other characteristics? Why bother even making one male and one female – why not just one face? We don’t learn any less than we would have with two faces because nothing was gained to begin with. I'd bet a croisant (if I had one) versus a fishbone that if one composite face were made it would be masculine. |
