The tent has 3 main parts. A single metal wall, a waterproof box for the floor and the canvas for the roof and other walls. The metal wall folds out from the floor it has one end of canvas attached to the top of it. the other end of the canvas is attached to the box-floor. The floor fills with water to stop it flying away or can be pegged down. Once the tent is set up it looks like a capital L with the canvas streatching between the two ends.

Tents with fiberglass-like poles, that actually do self-erect (pull it out of the bag, let go, it goes "sproing" and you have a tent), have been baked for quite a while.
