I'd like my computer to snore really softly when it is asleep.
You could turn off this feature if you don't like it.-- DesertFox, Dec 20 2004 The snoring computer should also mutter unintelligible things, save for the odd, no no dont format me no -- spiritualized, Dec 20 2004 Oh. I just decided to stick that up there and see what others think.-- DesertFox, Dec 20 2004 Maybe just put it in your profile.-- spiritualized, Dec 21 2004 Great. And now when it gets a virus, I have to listen to it coughing all night?-- phundug, Dec 21 2004 Hahahaha!
You can turn it off, if you like. Or maybe that could serve as an alert when your computer has a virus.-- DesertFox, Dec 21 2004 Nothing like a good, lungs-on-the-floor coughing fit from your computer to let you know it has a virus.-- Machiavelli, Dec 21 2004 I want this. It would go nicely with the little light on the front of my iMac that slowly dims and brightens in a soothing fashion. Though it keep me awake.-- Eugene, Dec 21 2004 Brings new meaning to the "cradle" for PDAs.-- DocBrown, Dec 21 2004 I would quite like for my pc, once a year at a random date, to have night terrors.
"Noooooo, noooooo, ahhhhgghhhhhh!!!! Not the probe!! Noooooooooooo, agggggggggggggggghhhhhh etc.!'
Just to keep me on my toes.-- etherman, Dec 21 2004 As long as my work PC can't doze off and alert my colleagues to my inactivity by its snoring!
I assumed you meant 'asleap' as in 'screensaver mode' - did you mean that or 'standby' ?
It's interesting that nobody queried exactly what you meant - we all seem quite comfortable with your turn of phrase. Have we collectively anthropomorphised computers to such an extent?
[+] btw.-- dobtabulous, Dec 21 2004 the link works for me, but requires a *download* (btw spelled incorrectly DF)-- dentworth, Dec 21 2004 Thanks, dentworth.
And yes, sleep mean standby mode.-- DesertFox, Dec 21 2004 random, halfbakery
