I hate household chores, I really hate household chores, the trouble is I hate living in a messy/dirty place so I'm regularly forced to do some tedious task to keep my living space up to the standards that I set.
Okay, yes I know there are robot vacuum cleaners out there, switch 'em on and leave them to it, the trouble is as far as I can tell, they're expensive.
So get around the problem of my lack of motivation to push a vacuum cleaner around I propose a remote control hoover, with go faster stripes, spoiler, flashing lights and a horn in case my girlfriend gets in the way. Of course the control needs to be as big as possible with as many buttons as possible, think of the control the Doc had in 'Back to the Future' and you're pretty much there.-- scubadooper, Aug 21 2004 Dyson Robotic http://www.dyson.co...rint.asp?model=DC06.. hope it works better than Roomba .. Was posted before. Was deleted because of already existing.-- DesertFox, Aug 21 2004 This seems different than the semi- random autonomy of the Roomba, Trilobite, or Dyson (link). I can't find any reference to user-controlled vacs; surely there are a lot of homebrewed versions out there. Running the vac around could be a lot of fun for a while, but when you get bored with chasing the pets, you're left with just another chore. Perhaps the R/C could be a feature added to an otherwise autonomous machine, for fun and to help it deal with difficult room layouts.-- bpilot, Aug 21 2004 As long as it a REALLY BIG remote control.-- scubadooper, Aug 21 2004 Yes, that is essential. Needlessly complex also.-- bpilot, Aug 21 2004 random, halfbakery
