Amplified Pencil   (+6, -1)  [vote for, against]
pencil that makes the sound of its own drawing

Amplified Pencil makes the sounds of itself when you draw with it.
Here's how it works:
Amplified pencil comes in three parts: a pencil, a micro- microphone/transmitter, and a receiver/amplifier/speaker.

To use your amplified pencil, you insert the top end into the micro-microphone, which makes contact with the flat end of the lead. You then turn on the amplifier and pair with the pencil.

Once you begin drawing/writing with the pencil, the sound of it scraping along the paper will now be amplified as loudly as you require. Other adjustments to the sound are possible. Two pencils similarly equipped can also be used as a simple drum machine, if you get tired of drawing.

Or have it play stuff that matches what you're drawing... https://www.youtube...pE4SdB-0gkY&index=1
...but only while you're actually drawing. [doctorremulac3, May 20 2019]

$8 on Amazon. Might be too big to fit on a pencil comfortably. [discontinuuity, May 23 2019]

Prior art: Pencil that converts the varying electrical conductivity between the pencil and the marks on the paper as you draw into sound. Google search results link because there are a lot of pages and videos about it—pick whatever catches your eye [notexactly, May 27 2019]

This technology could be used also on shoes, hammers, knives and forks, anything that is used by making contact with another thing I suppose.

I thought this was going to make the sound of what you are drawing e.g. meowing for a cat. obviously if you draw as badly as me, the sound would be hit and miss.

So it would do what chalk does.

Clever.

Another twist would be to have it play a song of your choosing but only when actually drawing, pauses when you lift it off the paper. So if you're drawing a pasture with flowers for instance it would play the linked song but only while pencil is in contact with paper.

Hey, that's a whole new idea. Think I'll post it. As a pen though, very easy to do.

Now I'm wondering about other tiny sounds. What do hair climbing head lice sound like ?, horsey clip clop, crunchy vegetative scraping, or chalky violin-like squeals.

I'm sure if you hold the pencil point against your head, a cacophony of sounds will emerge.

Nope, the other way. Purist of nothing, empty, devoid, just a rampant desire to fill a hole, even if it is just dollops of energy.

Then again, there is my squiggle as my arm travels through the universe.

That link idea is quite different. It actually quite like that which the Doc proposed. Amplified pencil is totally passive and simply amplifies whatever sound it already makes.... scratch, click, szeeees.....

Art brushes, calligraphy, fingerpainting, pottery are all artforms where a "zoom and pause" thermin-like sound could also be generated, it could even teach various styles of art with making "swoop swoop" sounds when swooping supported the art form.

Making it with computer response to video chip on the art implement could do it
