This is a website devoted entirely to our (well, a select portion of the population) love of ugly stuff: ugly couches that should have been thrown out long ago, but are suddenly so ugly that they appear to be stylish; and in general anything so tasteless that it's tasteful.

Some sample categories: *Ugly dogs *Ugly cats *Ugly shoes *Ugly cars/trucks *Ugly ties *Ugly shirts *Ugly lampshades/bases *Ugly furniture *Ugly appliances *Ugly sweaters *Ugly trailers *Ugly houses *Shag carpeting *Wood panelling *Things in harvest gold *The Avacado Green Avatar

Site Features:

*Ugly people chatroom

*'Ugly people' dating service- people united by their love of idiosyncratically ugly things

*'Ugly music'- information on where to find some of the most classically bad music ever made

So, there would be an auction area for ugly stuff, chatrooms for so-called ugly people, and reference areas for the providing of information on idiosyncratically ugly items.

A sufficiently ugly selection of wallpaper that looks like shag carpeting or wood panneling will be used.

I'd love it. My taste in objet' d'art has been variously described as 'You paid money for that? Actual dollars?' 'I'm not sure what's worse. That someone designed that or that TWO people bought it.' and 'Did someone throw up?'

       Sounds like eBay.

       Very true.

<emotional advocate tone of voice> But you know what? They sell all kinds of stuff, and there isn't a whole lot of love for what they're doing. This site is a personal interest forum, not just an auction business site. Would ebay have the guts to use shag-carpet wallpaper? Methinks not. </adv>

Now I know what do do with this year's Christmas & Hanukkah presents.

Most <Unfortunately, not all> people have sense enough to not use shag carpet as wallpaper for their websites, because it makes the text impossible to read.
