Could be twinned with piezo-electric collar, as a backup, registering the weight change side-to-side, or front-to-back.

       You could just put a spirit level down the midline of the head. Hook it up to an arduino, and it could alert you if your head drooped disenchantedly more than a certain number of times in a given period of time.
