stud kickers
you kick the boot against something and studs come out | |
When you're heading out into icy conditions, it is not fun to put the studded rubber things on your boots. When you come in from outside, it is not fun to take the rubber things off. If you're going in and out a lot, it is a real bother. Boots that have retracting studs would be nice. When you go out
or come in, you kick the toe against something and the studs either retract or come out.
Shoes, but...

Maybe similar to the way the shoes with wheels in them work? I don't know how that is, actually. But I imagine studs on these boots are on a frame of some sort, embedded in the lug soles of the boots (like foos-ball table men). Maybe the kick plates would be on the sides. Kick one side and the studs flip down. Kick the other side and they flip up and back into place so that they don't come into contact with the floor. If done right, there would be intermittent about it. |

The first retractable cleat golf shoe just came on the market in these parts and if you search the hb for retractable shoes you'll see that [dog ed] did this one back in 2001. |
