shock sensors and pressure sensors imbedded into headgear could be used to assess damage during sports.

For boxers it would add interest to know percisely how hard a punch was. but also with sports in general a record of how much foce was applied and how much the head moved might be useful to doctors in assessing the trauma.

       Also another betting metric. An accelerometer with a high sampling rate could show the finer deteriorating head movements throughout the fight. A clear indication of tiredness or something more sinister.
