Have you heard of King George's drug habit and the redemption he found with his cousin? Did you know Emperor Zhuanxuhad a habit of sneaking out at night to fight crime? The love triangle between Truman, his wife, and his secret male lover? If you haven't it's probably because these things never happened. But if they did a good deal of story telling could be done around their lives.

People like light, fluffy, entertaining, and dramatic stories. Historians want people to learn history, but they only tell dry, factual accounts. Even the many very real and highly entertaining facts about historical places and happenstances get buried in un-fun trivia.

I propose a version of history watered down and sexed up until 14 year old boys are sneaking copies of "The Spanish Empire" into the bathroom. Learn they shall, and who cares about whether they learn all the trivia just right if they end up acing history classes and learning useful things?

Plenty of sex in history already...just ask Ben Franklin or Ghengis Khan.

Perhaps you should try reading something other than School Board Approved texts. Diaries, Journals, Arrest records, Love letters of the place and time you happen to be interested in might be better for you.

Generally avoid Reader's Digest Condensed books and abridged works, the juice gets squeezed out of those.

       Very highly regarded couple.
Known as Ghenjamin at the time, of course.

It's good to be the king. Though the peasants are revolting.

I just watched a documentary on how many of the royal blood lines have inbred For various reasons, obviously mostly political, but they sure had a lot of sex.

How else do you think you end up looking like Charles?

So, the History Channel, back when it did actual history sometimes?

WKTE & fully baked from the dawn of history for both entertainment & propaganda.

Two modern examples would be The Tudors & The Great, do you not have a TV?
