Retracting cables are found already in some USB stuff, modems, and most vacuum cleaners. Why not a PC case with a power cable and monitor cable pre-attached. Need to move office? simply unplug the cables from the other end, press the button on the PC case, and watch the cables whip through the air as the retract into the case. no more fooling around with tangled cables.

Some very few devices come with retractable cables already. But yeah, let's put them on PCs, etc.

Very good idea. Simple. Need to make them simple to replace and not too expensive.

I want this for the power cables on my laptop, digital camera, digital video camera, mp3 player, and cell phone. For these more compact devices, maybe the retractable cables could be built into the carrying cases or docks.
