I have a few ideas to reduce air pollution in our cities. Different type of products that are made for different types of pollution causers. The main one I have is that for cars and industry. Ion filters, which are already in existance. You retrofit the product to fit over the top of the exhaust hole. The an ion stream hit the pollution than the little ions hit and stick to the pollution and fall into the filter system. Then all you would have to do is change the filters. I recently have ion filter system that are fairly small that could be retrofitted to fit cars. This I feel woul ddrastically reduce emmissions coming from cars and tractor trailers, and even smoke stacks. Anywhere emmissions exit you could retrofit this device to catch pollution.

       Do you know the volume of exhaust that is discharged from an automobile engine? If so, how does this compare to the volume of air that can be treated by "fairly small" ion filter systems?   

       I don't know the answer to either of these. Just wondering how realistic this scheme is/isn't. I know that a V8 engine is pretty capable of swallowing somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 cubic feet per minute of air. Just a guess but, I imagine that the exhaust volume is orders of magnitude greater than the intake volume.

       Today's Science Project: Before ionization, you'd see a phrase like "would drastically". Afterwards it's like this: "woul ddrastically".   

       I'm with half on this. Does it matter if you remove a few particles from the gasses? I'd bet you end up with a lotta ions PLUS the exhaust fumes. How do I attach this "product"? Will it look good on my 'Harley'? How often do I change filter$ ?

       forget the ion thingy, and ditch your car forever. seriosly, ditch it, leave it parked at a meeter for long enough and it will probably go away without a hassle, like i did with mine.
